Instruments for monitoring industrial pollution smoke emissions

On November 25, the "non-dispersive infrared multi-component gas analyzer" and "retrievable ultraviolet multi-component flue gas analyzer" developed by the Key Laboratory of Environmental Optics and Technology of Anhui Institute of Optics and Chemicals, Chinese Academy of Sciences Scientific and technological achievements appraisal organized by Anhui Science and Technology Department. The results will be applied to continuous automatic monitoring of industrial pollution source smoke emissions. Two kinds of instruments were used in the demonstration operation of Huainan Tianjiao Power Plant and Shandong Chenming Thermoelectricity Co., Ltd. The results showed that the instrument has the advantages of easy to use, convenient operation, stability and reliability.

Some of the links in industrial production, such as raw material production, processing, combustion, heating and cooling processes, and finished product finishing processes, may be the source of industrial pollution. SO2, NO2, NO, CO, and CO2, which are important components of industrial pollution emissions, will not only damage the atmosphere and endanger human health, but also destroy the radiation balance of the Earth and affect the global climate. In response to the national requirements for energy conservation and emission reduction, it is necessary to monitor the emission of various types of industrial pollution sources. Advanced smoke automatic continuous monitoring equipment is an important means to accurately and effectively monitor industrial source emissions and formulate corresponding control measures.

The “Nondisperse Infrared Multicomponent Gas Analyzer” developed by Anhui Optomechanics achieved continuous on-line measurement of various gases such as SO2, NO2, NO, CO, and CO2 in industrial waste gas. A constant-temperature optical path multiplied secondary reflection tank was designed to improve the measurement sensitivity of the system; a multi-functional filter wheel that integrates optical modulation and optical filtering was designed to achieve simultaneous inversion of multiple gases and improved the dynamic range of the measurement. A cross-interference subtraction algorithm for pollutant concentration calculation was proposed to improve the measurement accuracy of multi-component pollutant gases such as SO2, NO, NO2, CO, and CO2.

“Retrieving UV multi-component flue gas analyzer” adopts UV differential absorption spectroscopy technology to achieve continuous automatic measurement of SO2 and NO in flue gas. An integrated constant-temperature multi-wing structure was designed to improve the stability of the xenon lamp light source; a surface-sprayed PTFE-coated high-temperature constant-temperature sample cell was designed to improve the anti-fouling ability and ensure the stability and corrosion resistance of the sample cell. The high-temperature gas ultraviolet differential absorption spectrum correction algorithm was proposed to achieve quantitative inversion of SO2 and NO in flue gas.

The expert group of the achievement appraisal committee reviewed the relevant data of the two outcomes in detail and observed the operation of the instrument on the spot, and fully affirmed the achievements of the research on the subject. The appraisal committee unanimously held that non-dispersive infrared multi-component gas analyzers are in the same leading position in the field of multi-component gas continuous automatic measurement accuracy, sensitivity, and dynamic range, and have reached the international advanced level; removable ultraviolet multi-component smoke The gas analyzer is in the same leading position in domestic technology in terms of light source stability, sample cell anti-fouling ability, and quantitative inversion of high-temperature gas, and has reached the international advanced level. Experts recommend accelerating the industrialization of the project's achievements.
