Jeep domestic production started in the second half of 2014

On January 15, U.S. time, Fiat Group Automobile Co., Ltd., Chrysler Group and Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. formally signed a framework agreement to expand cooperation in the production and sales of passenger vehicles in China. For the first time in the agreement, the Jeep brand has been made domestically. In addition, Guangzhou Automobile Group executives also revealed that the first Jeep brand domestic car plans to put into production in the second half of 2014.

According to the latest signed agreement, the future production capacity of GAC Fiat Joint Venture will be increased to meet the demand for more Fiat-Chrysler products in China in the future. There is an important part of the agreement, which is that the Chrysler Group's Jeep brand will become the next domestic brand in the GAC Fiat joint venture (production for the Chinese market only).

The official details of the localization of the Jeep brand have not yet been announced, but according to previous media reports, GAC Fiat will establish a joint venture brand subsidiary responsible for the Jeep domestic project, which means that in addition to the Fiat brand-related models in the future, GAC Fiat There will be Jeep branded products.

In addition, Guangqi Group General Manager Zeng Qinghong disclosed to the media at the North American auto show site that GAC Fiat plans to put into production of Jeep brand models in China in the second half of 2014. The first model is a newly developed SUV model based on the new platform.
