Abstract: Valves are an indispensable part of the system of chemical industry. The function and level of the valve itself will have a great impact on the operation of the chemical system. Therefore, in order to ensure the smooth operation of the chemical-based system, it is necessary to grasp the way to select the common valves, and take this as the premise to select the appropriate valve, thus ensuring the chemical industry to achieve longer-term progress. This paper mainly analyzes the selection descriptions and key points of commonly used valves in chemical design, and summarizes the selection methods of common valves to improve the quality of chemical pipeline design and provide reference for related research.

Valves are an important component of the chemical industry. The system is characterized by extremely critical functions. Because there are too many types of valves, all kinds of valves are not the same in terms of function. Therefore, during the chemical design period, the appropriate valves should be selected according to the specific operation regulations of the system to ensure the quality of the valves themselves and the functions are comprehensive, and then to the chemical industry. The system is stable and safely operated with corresponding guarantees, bringing a lot of economic benefits to the chemical industry.
1 Guidelines for selecting valves during chemical design During the chemical design period, the valves should be selected in accordance with the relevant guidelines to ensure proper selection. The corresponding criteria include the following aspects:
First, to clarify the application of the valve itself, the valve is in line with the needs of which aspects, the choice of control methods, the internal pressure of the pipeline must be fully implemented. Pipeline valves can be selected more scientifically only after fully grasping the functions of the valves that need to be used.
Second, at present, there are many types of valves in the market, and there are great differences between the various valves and their production-related processes. For this reason, during the selection of the valve, the type of valve that needs to be selected should be determined.
Third, during the chemical design period, it is necessary to pay attention to the selection of the valve port connection to ensure that the key role of the valve itself is greatly reflected during the chemical design.
Fourth, select the valve with better quality, because the manufacturing material of the valve itself will determine the level and quality of the valve itself. Therefore, only the overall concern about the importance of selecting the valve in the above aspects can guarantee the level and quality of the valve itself.
2 Relevant countermeasures for the selection of common valves during chemical design During the selection of various common valves, the first thing to consider is the characteristics, characteristics and quality of the valve itself, and the overall evaluation of the impact during the operation. To this end, it is necessary to carry out all-round thinking on the specific application of chemical industry.
2.1 Selection of gate valve Since the more common types of valves in the market, the valve stem pushes the valve plate to control the take-off and landing operation. This valve has obvious characteristics during the specific application and has excellent adjustment. The more important features are gathered in the aspects of closure and opening. However, this gate valve also has obvious disadvantages, mostly because the structure of the gate valve itself is rather complicated, and as long as the failure occurs, the difficulty during the implementation of the repair is relatively large. Therefore, based on the characteristics of the above aspects, in the normal situation, the valve commonly used in the chemical design period should select the gate valve, which has a relatively large application range, including steam, oil, solid granular media, etc. At the same time, it is also possible to use the exhaust valve and the vacuum system in a more comprehensive manner, and has relatively remarkable application characteristics. However, it should be noted that if it is applied to a solid granular medium, it is not only necessary to select a gate valve, but also two blow holes. If the temperature of the medium itself is too low, a special gate valve should be used to ensure the corresponding application effect. .
2.2 Selection of Plug Valves Plug valves are mostly used in pipes that need to be quickly opened and closed. They are not suitable for use in media with high temperature and high temperature. However, they can be used in granular media with high viscosity and suspension. The same can highlight the excellent characteristics. However, this plug valve is not used in large quantities because it does not solve the cumbersome media needs.
2.3 Butterfly valve selection countermeasures Butterfly valves are more suitable for use in pipelines with long construction length and large size. It is more suitable to use butterfly valves for the relevant conditions that need to be quickly opened and sealed to control flow. The oil can be used in the same manner as in the compressed air medium, but it should be ensured that the temperature is less than 80 ° C and the pressure is less than 1 MPa. Comparing the butterfly valve with the same gate valve, the pressure loss of the gate valve itself is not large. Therefore, the butterfly valve is more suitable to be applied to the design that is not strict with the pressure of the pipeline itself.
2.4 Selection of stop valve The stop valve is more suitable for the pipeline design that does not have excessively high resistance to the fluid itself. Whether it is too high temperature or the pipeline with too high pressure medium, the shut-off valve can reflect its superiority. characteristic. For steam-type pipes with a partial DN of less than 200 mm, the design of the shut-off valve can be selected as well. During the selection of a smaller valve, the shut-off valve can be selected. For pipelines with low adjustment characteristics and small diameter, the shut-off valve can be used. If the medium itself is toxic gas or liquid, the shut-off valve should be selected, which is mostly because the shut-off valve itself has a significant sealing property of moisture. It can greatly prevent toxic gases or liquids from leaking out. Usually during the fermentation, the shut-off valve will be selected. The sealing function of the valve itself is superior, and the changing of the gasket is convenient. It is only necessary to ensure that the fluid is oriented toward the same valve during assembly.
2.5 Selection of throttle valve The structure of the throttle valve itself is similar to that of the stop valve. It can be applied to the piping design with low adjustment characteristics and small diameter. However, there is a slight difference between the two. That is, the throttle valve has a throttle member inside. The size of the throttle valve is usually not too large, and it has obvious energy-saving advantages, which is more consistent with the current sustainable development. However, the throttle itself is less controlled and cannot be used in more stringent pipes.
3 Conclusion With the improvement of the requirements of chemical design work, the importance of the selection of valve types is self-evident. In the actual design process, it is necessary to proceed from the actual situation and strengthen the valve on the basis of reasonable control of the investment in the early stage of design. According to the efficiency of different types of valves, medium requirements and temperature adaptation, select the corresponding valves to reduce the occurrence of leakage problems, optimize the design level of chemical pipelines, and ensure the stable operation of production systems.
