The new technology of biomass reduction and preparation of silver/gold nanoparticles developed by the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Xiamen University has recently been approved by the National “863†Program.
It is understood that silver nanoparticles are widely used in many fields due to their unique physicochemical properties, such as elemental silver has a strong bactericidal ability, and silver has always been the main component of ethylene epoxidation catalysts. Gold nanoparticles have been shown to have potential applications in areas such as biochemical immunity due to their unique optical and electrical properties, good stability, small size and surface effects, and unique biocompatibility.
Biomass Reduction Preparation of Ag/Au Nanoparticles The R&D project will develop a new technology for the preparation of silver/gold nanoparticles using plant reduction methods under mild conditions, which is low cost and environmentally friendly and is expected to replace traditional preparation techniques. At present, the project has developed a process for the reduction of silver nitrate/gold nanoparticles by dry reduction of aromatic glycosides, and successfully obtained dozens of plant biomass with strong reduction capacity.
