According to the China Textile Industry Federation Entrepreneur Survey, in the fourth quarter of 2012, China's textile industry prosperity index was 58.61, indicating that the industry as a whole showed a warming trend. Gao Yong analyzed that there is a recovery trend in the export market this year, but it depends on whether China's textile and apparel international competitiveness can be maintained. The domestic demand market will steadily expand with urbanization and the growth of residents' income. The cotton price difference will continue this year. The pressure on the cotton spinning industry will continue to be affected, and the export of cotton products will still be affected. The industry operates stably, and the overall trend is low and high.

Wang Shutian proposed that the focus of the textile machinery industry in 2013 is still industrial upgrading and structural adjustment. He said that although the economic operation of the textile machinery industry showed a trend of weakening in 2012, the pace of structural adjustment of the industrial enterprises has been significantly accelerated. In 2013, Jiangsu Jinsheng Industrial Co., Ltd. acquired the merger and acquisition actions represented by the Oerlikon Natural Fibers and Textile Machinery Components Business Unit, and the transformation of the enterprise represented by Changzhou Tonghe Textile Machinery Co., Ltd. joined in the cotton spinning machine manufacturing industry, resulting in the production of textile machinery. The pattern of manufacturing companies is changing. A group of domestic large-scale textile machinery enterprises represented by Pacific Electromechanical and Tianmen Textile Machinery have successfully implemented the project of retreating into the city. These enterprises are taking this opportunity as an opportunity to move toward a new development platform. Rieter (Changzhou) Textile Machinery Co., Ltd. opened its second plant and Oerlikon opened a new headquarters building in Shanghai. Foreign-funded enterprises further increased their investment in China. All this means that the structural adjustment of the textile machinery industry has entered a new stage of toughening.

Wang Shutian pointed out that the textile machinery industry should further explore how to promote technological innovation in the industry. As the largest spinning machine country in the world with the largest production scale and the largest variety of products, the domestic textile machinery enterprises cannot always be the followers in terms of product technology, but should strive to become leaders. To this end, the China Textile Machinery Association is organizing member companies to strengthen technical cooperation and promotion among enterprises through the creation of an innovative technology alliance in the textile machinery industry. At present, the “New Generation Textile Machinery Industry Technology Innovation Alliance” led by the Association is being pushed forward. Wang Shutian said that the establishment of the alliance will provide companies, universities, and research institutes with technical cooperation and promotion platforms that conform to the laws of the market and jointly break through the technological bottlenecks of industrial development.
