Pursuant to the "Administrative Measures on New Products for Measuring Instruments", the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine issued the "Notice on Doing a Good Job of Measuring and Evaluating the Type Assessment of New Products of Measuring Instruments" on January 13, 2009 (National Quality Inspection Letter [2005] No. 998), requiring that, from the date of issue, the Quality and Technology Supervision Bureaus of all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government shall, when accepting applications for the type approval of measuring instruments such as scales, electric energy meters, gas meters, heat meters, fuel dispensers, and taxi fare meters, The relevant provisions of the "Administrative Measures for New Products for Measuring Instruments" are entrusted to the laboratories authorized by the State Administration of Administration for type evaluation.
Fujian Institute of Metrology will take the establishment of national electric energy meter type evaluation laboratories as an opportunity to further improve the capabilities of type evaluation laboratories, and provide strong technical support for improving the quality of electric energy meters, strengthening the measurement and management of government legal systems, and promoting the healthy economic and social development.
