The six APLNGs built by Hudong Zhonghua recently completed the procurement of a gas-fired unit (GCU), one of the important large-scale equipment. As the world's leading manufacturer of combustion technology, SAACKE GmbH won the bid for GCU equipment from APLNG after acquiring the GCU of four Exxon LNGC ships two years ago.
The owners of the APLNG are Sinopec (SINOPEC), China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CSG-LNG), and Mitsui (MOL). The new ship has a design load of 174,000 cubic meters and a GCU with a combustion power of approximately 70 MW. The new ship is expected to deliver 3 ships in 2016 and 3 ships in 2017. The planned service route is to transport LNG natural gas from Curtis Island, Queensland, Australia to China's five major receiving stations: Qingdao, Shandong, Guangxi Beihai, Tianjin, Lianyungang, Jiangsu. And Wenzhou, Zhejiang.
