According to the news on the 8th of China's Gezhouba Dam Group, the water level of Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station, the third largest hydropower station under construction in China, has reached a design elevation of 370 meters. For the first time, the dam hub has undergone a water level test of 370 meters, marking another Xiangjiaba dam project Major node goal, power station full play power generation, flood control, shipping, irrigation and other comprehensive benefits.
Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station commenced implementation of the second phase of water storage at 9:00 on June 26 from 354 meters to 370 meters. Due to the relatively small amount of water in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River, the water storage project originally scheduled for completion at 18 o'clock on July 3 was postponed until 18 o'clock on the July 5.
At 3:00 a.m. on July 5, the water level in Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station reached a design elevation of 370 meters. During the water storage period, the water level increased by 14.1 meters in total, accumulating a total of 10.95 billion cubic meters of water. In the later period, the water level of Xiangjiaba reservoir area will be operated in the range of 370 to 372.5 meters under normal circumstances. During the flood control flood season, the water level in the reservoir area will be operated in the range of 370 to 380 meters.
Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station is located at the junction of Sichuan and Yunnan. It is the last cascade power station in the cascade development of the lower reaches of the Jinsha River. It is also a key power project for the large-scale development of west China and a backbone power point for sending power from the west to the east. The power station uses 8 units generating 800,000 kilowatts of single units, with a total installed capacity of 6.4 million kilowatts, is the third largest hydropower station in China after Xiluodu Hydropower Station and Xiluodu Hydropower Station.
