It was alleged that at 9:00 am the same day, they found a series of large animal footprints on a flat ground, some of which were fresh and old. Because Dabashan only had a heavy rain two days ago, Zhou estimated that the fresh footprints should be left in about 10 hours. According to Zhou Zhenglong's measurements, the width of these footprints was 14 cm and the step distance was 90 cm. He judged this as a footprint left by an adult tiger.
Zhou Zhenglong and Xu Kai tracked forward and found another footprint of the same animal on a slope and photographed it.
