New wear-resistant agricultural machinery parts developed successfully

In order to improve the level of modern agriculture in China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences launched the "Chinese Academy of Sciences Modern Agriculture Demonstration Project" project, and the Institute of Metals of the Chinese Academy of Sciences undertook the task of developing high-performance wear-resistant ploughs.

The scientific research personnel of the metal special alloy research group broke through the traditional thinking and introduced a certain volume of carbide in the ductile iron, which solved the problems of the introduction and control technology of the carbide structure, the poor spheroidization effect, and the control of the heat treatment process window. The design and composition optimization of a new type of ductile iron with high hardness and good toughness (the new wear-resistant material is abbreviated as CADI). The test results show that the wear resistance of CADI materials is doubled and has a certain impact toughness.

The on-site assessment results of the Shuangshan Farm in the Shenyang Military Region show that the actual service life of the developed CADI plough has been doubled. "CADI as a casting material, its performance advantages are obvious in the environment where the impact requirements are not high." Researcher Yan Desheng told the reporter of the Chinese Journal of Science and Technology.

Agricultural machinery parts not only have to be in contact with the soil, but also often collide with sand and stone. Especially in the harsh conditions of soil, high-speed agricultural machinery parts are easy to break and fail during the impact process. Therefore, many agricultural machinery parts still require high impact resistance while maintaining high wear resistance.

The special alloy research group developed a wear-resistant high-strength and high-toughness alloy steel while carrying out the above-mentioned projects. "This kind of alloy steel is based on boron steel. By adding microalloying elements and introducing fine carbides, the hardness is further improved and the impact toughness is less." Yan Desheng said, "The alloy has good comprehensive properties." , with high wear resistance and good impact resistance."

Agricultural machinery such as disc harrows, rotary tillers, corrugated discs and rake ploughs were prepared from the wear-resistant high-strength and high-toughness alloy steels. At present, the comparison test results of many domestic farm loading vehicles show that the service life of homemade products is generally more than twice the domestic average level, of which the plow is 5 to 10 times.

Yan Desheng pointed out that related agricultural machinery products have already included Hulunbeier Agricultural Reclamation (Sher Tara, Te Nihe Farm, etc.), Shenyang Military Region directly under the farm (Shuangshan, Laolai Base, etc.), Xinjiang Construction Corps and Jiangsu Agricultural Reclamation (Yellow Sea, Xinyang) , Xincao, Qionggang and Jiangxinsha, etc. have carried out demonstration applications, and the use of good feedback has been recognized by the farms.

Up to now, the products such as ploughshare, rake plow, disc harrow, corrugated disc and mowing blade developed by the metal have mastered the industrial production technology. "The performance of these products has reached the international advanced level, and the cost is less than half of the imports. It has significant economic and social benefits, and can promote the upgrading of domestic agricultural machinery wear parts." Yan Desheng said.
